Health & Wellness at the CBE
At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Sensory Room
Wildwood School has a sensory room that has been in use for a number of years. A Sensory Room is a specially designed room which combines a range of stimuli to help students develop and engage their senses. This room includes lights, colours, sounds, sensory soft play objects, and vertical tubes with coloured bubbles that allow the student using it to explore and interact without risk.
The sensory room has supported our students when they need a space to help regulate their senses, help students relax, and to focus and experience a sense of well-being. The room also helps students with unique learning needs. These include students with autism, students who are non-verbal, experience anxiety or overwhelmed by loud noises and bright colours, to name a few.
