Inform | Modular Classrooms for Connaught School
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are happy to inform you that the Government of Alberta has approved four new modular units for Connaught School. In addition to the new modular units, the Board of Trustees has approved relocating two modular units from another Calgary Board of Education (CBE) school to Connaught School. These six modulars will add 100 additional student learning spaces to Connaught School.
CBE requested these modular units in the 2024-25 Modular Classroom Program, which was submitted to the provincial government in October 2023.
CBE is beginning site work assessments right away. We expect the modulars will begin to be installed in the late fall with a target for completion in early 2025. You will continue to be updated as we receive more information about the relocation and installation of the modular units. When the occupancy date becomes known we will follow the call-back process to offer families, in order of the priority lists, an opportunity to return to Connaught School. The call-back process continues to occur at various points in the school year when space and resources are available.
Please email accommodation@cbe.ab.ca with any questions about this announcement.
Thank you,
Calgary Board of Education
Student Cell Phone Expectations
We understand that cell phones are an important communication and safety device for students. During school time (7:57am - (M-Th) 2:35pm; (F) 12:05pm), it is expected that phones are in student’s backpacks and stay in backpacks. There are some exceptions for students that use cell phones for translations or other special circumstances. This is arranged with the teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.
Toys and Other Personal Items at School
Students are expected to keep toys and personal items in their backpacks during school time.
Staying Safe | Bikes, Scooters, SkateBoards, Roller Blades
