Enrolment and Classes
Well, we have 1 week(ish) under our belt! Students and adults are settling into routines nicely.
At this time, Wildwood School enrollment is sitting at about 540 students. We have added 1 teacher and several support staff temporarily, until our final student count and budget, calculated on September 30th. At this time, we do not anticipate needing to re-organize class assignments.
2023-2024 Yearbooks
2023/24 yearbooks that were ordered last year were delivered to students today. If you have received one in error, or did not receive one but ordered one, please email: wildwood@cbe.ab.ca
If you would like to purchase one now, please email wildwood@cbe.ab.ca by Thursday, Sept 12th at 4:00pm. If we have more requests than yearbooks, we will do a draw and email back the successful families by Friday Sept 13th with payment information.

Toys, Books and LEGO
If you are doing any fall clean up and have toys, books and LEGO to rehome, please consider the school! Our kinder, grade 1 and EES programs love pre-loved items in good shape, with all parts that do not require batteries.
Drop Off Areas
Student safety is EVERYONE’s responsibility. Please be mindful of our most used intersections - Wedgewood Dr and Spruce Dr, 45th ST and Spruce and 5 ave and 45th ST. Every year we have multiple ‘close calls’ and/or actual situations of a pedestrian being hit. Drive the speed limit, adhere to road rules and be aware. Take your time and consider all students.
If you are using the Wildwood Community Centre parking lot for drop off and pick up, be aware that children are crossing Spruce Drive in the crosswalk right there. We have already had several reports of ‘close calls’ in this area.
When dropping off and picking up students, please ensure that you are using the correct areas.
- Do not park in front of the school, it is a designated School Bus zone.
- Do not use this area as a drop off, it is a designated School Bus zone
- Do not use the staff parking lot as a pick up and drop off area.
Snacks for the Office
Caring for our community is important to us. Please consider purchasing a little extra on that next Costco run. Some popular items are: fish crackers, granola bars, fruit leather and fruit cups. Thank you for making sure any donations are peanut free!
Terry Fox
Every year, students across Canada participate in ‘The Terry Fox’ run. Terry is a Canadian hero, who, after losing his leg to cancer, set out to run across the country. Sadly, Terry was not able to complete his run after his cancer returned. However, his legacy lives on every fall! For more information: https://terryfox.org/terrys-story/
The Wildwood School Terry Fox run will be on September 20th at 10:30am. You are welcome to join us for the run/cheer us on! Please meet outside around 10:25am. Typically, the whole school cheers for kindergarten to start us off, and then grades join in.
