Grade 6 | EcoSchool Parent Orientation

We will be having our EcoSchool Parent Orientation evening February 5th at 6:00 pm. Please note that parental attendance at the meeting is mandatory for your child to attend EcoSchool.

EcoSchool staff will be present to present information on the program and answer questions.

Festive Foods

Thank you to the families who have registered for Festive Foods through the Healthy Hunger portal. Our next lunch is scheduled for delivery on Thursday, February 5th featuring Panago Pizza.

To participate, please make sure your child’s Healthy Hunger profile is set up and your order is placed no later than Saturday, January 31st. You can get started by visiting Healthy Hunger - School. Majority of our orders have been set up in the portal through to April/May 2026 and you can always log in to see what events you have not ordered for.

We’re also looking for parent volunteers to help receive, sort, and deliver lunches once or twice a month. If you’re interested in getting involved at the school, please email raj.deol86@gmail.com to be added to our volunteer list. All volunteers must have valid security clearance through Calgary Police Service and complete the volunteer clearance form on MyCBE.

Upcoming Events:

  • Thursday, February 5th - Panago Pizza
  • Wednesday, February 11th - Booster Juice (smoothies only)
  • Thursday, February 26th - Noodlebox

Recorder and Flute Ordering

Grade 3 and 4 students will be starting their recorder unit around the middle of March. Families are asked to purchase a $12 recorder kit by Feb. 27. If you choose not to order a recorder kit, the school has a limited number of recorders to lend out, but it's much better that each student has their own kit, as it includes a quality recorder, case, book and code for practice online. Recorders will be given out at school once students have had a few lessons. During the unit, recorders ‘live in backpacks’, so students can bring them to each music class and practice at home.

Grade 6 students will be assembling and painting their very own Indigenous Flute. This is a project where students will design, paint, learn to play and compose on their very own Northern Spirit Indigenous Flute. Families are asked to purchase a flute building kit ($20 through the school which includes all supplies). Please order by Feb. 27.

Please order through your online CBE account, under FEES. Please follow these steps to order a recorder package:
