Music News
Performances:
Student performances will look a bit different this year. Instead of large concerts, each grade group will present a celebration of their learning, based on one area of their curriculum. These 'mini-concerts' will be during the day, and families will be invited to attend. Stay tuned for more information.
We are excited to have Trickster theatre coming to Wildwood School May 25-29! They will be working with students to create an original production around the theme "Home", and there will be a performance for families to come watch.
Recorders and Flutes:
Grade 3 students, and any Grade 4 students who do not yet have a recorder will be asked to purchase a recorder kit ($12).
Grade 6 students will be taking part in a flute building project this spring. This will involve building, designing, painting, playing and composing on their very own Northern Spirit Indigenous Flute. Families are asked to purchase a flute building kit (approximately $20 through the school).
Please watch here for more information.
School Council News:
Help us build a new school playground with a silent auction donation
As you may have heard, fundraising is underway to replace the Wildwood School playground to ensure students and young Wildwoodians have a safe place to play for years to come.
As part of the fundraising efforts, we are hosting a silent auction and gift card game at the school’s beloved Kokomo Beach party on February 26th and we’d love it if you could support us.
We are seeking donations of items, services, or gift certificates to include in the auction. Money raised will go directly to our playground funds.
Maybe you have some gift cards kicking around that you’re unlikely to spend, are a talented local artist or maker who could donate something you’ve made, or have ties to a large or small business that would like to donate an item, service, or gift card. Any and all donations would be very appreciated! Please email wildwoodschoolcouncil@gmail.com if you would like to help out with a donation.
We are also accepting cash donations. Please visit the School Project Partnerships link on the Parks Foundation Calgary webpage to learn more.
