Skate Shack | January 8 - 12
As part of the Physical Education and Wellness curriculum, we are currently planning a school wide “off-site” skating activity to Wildwood Community Centre’s Ice Rink, which is located at Wildwood Community Association. Skating will occur daily from January 8, 2024 to January 12, 2024. The students will walk to the Community Centre for the activity. They will participate in basic ice-skating activities and depart from Wildwood School at their designated lesson time, returning to the school after lesson completion.
The skate shack will be onsite and will be able to provide skates and helmets for student use. All must wear helmets, gloves/mitts and socks while skating. Students must wear a correctly fitting, CSA, ASTM, Snell or CPSC sport specific helmet. Bike helmets are not appropriate for this activity. Please note that this activity is focused on skating, not hockey. Students are not to bring ice hockey sticks.
The students will participate in the following activity: Skating on an ice rink.
Please refer to the attached itinerary for your child’s skate time.
Your child’s teacher will be leading and supervising your child’s class for this activity.
We are looking for as many volunteers to help supervise the off-site activity. If you are able to volunteer for this off-site activity, please sign up by visiting the link below:

o Gloves/Mitts (Students will not be allowed to skate without gloves/mitts)
o Snow Pants
o Socks
o Toque
The cost is free for this off-site activity.
