Happy September from Wildwood School Council!
My name is Diane Jeffers, I am the current Chair of the Wildwood School Council. We have one child in Grade 5 and another that has just moved on to Junior High! My participation on council started 7 years ago when I took over the planning of the 30+ year tradition of Kokomo Family Fun Night with a group of moms. It was incredibly eye opening and gratifying to see how the council, these wonderful parent volunteers work together for the common goal of enhancing the education of their children!
One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Our main mission is to enhance the education experience at Wildwood School through fundraising, we do so with Bottle drives, raffles, Casinos, the annual Kokomo Family Fun Night and monthly Festive Foods. These funds go directly back into the school. You’ll see the council’s contribution on the pavement in the compound, in the new smart boards in the classrooms, in Gym class equipment and the new dance moves they bring home later in the year, did I say technology? Chrome books, applications software, translation software and even new school announcement & sound systems.
Council is also a great way to meet new friends, see the school more regularly and get to know all of the teachers that get to spend all that time with your kiddos!

CASINO FUNDRAISER: November 11 & 12, 2023 @ the Elbow River Casino
This is a very important fundraising event for Wildwood School. Our last Casino Fundraiser brought the council $67,000!!! Our school community is required to fill 38 positions during these 4 shifts.

EDUCATION MATTERS $60K for 60 years! - Wildwood School opened in 1963! Donate to our new school sound system through this link and you’ll be issued a tax receipt.
