Week of Sept 18 | Choir, Conferences, Snack, MakerSpace, Terry Fox Run,

Choir

There will be an optional choir club for Grade 4, 5 or 6 students starting next week. The choir will be held in the music room on Wednesdays after school from 2:45 pm until 3:45 pm, starting Sept. 20 until the Div 2 performance in January. Students need to be prepared to commit to attending all rehearsals. We understand that there may be extraordinary circumstances/illness. Please ensure your child informs me of any known absences. If there are more than 40 students interested we will do a random draw. Students who are not drawn will be a priority in the spring. There is no bus home following choir rehearsal.

The choir club will be learning music for a field trip to Field of Crosses (early morning on Nov.7), as well as a song for the CBC Music Class Challenge. It is important for parents/guardians to understand that students will be recorded for a video submission that will be uploaded onto the CBC Music Class Challenge Youtube channel. Our video submission needs to be completed by Nov. 22. Students will also perform a special song for the January Div 2 performance.

Students who would like to join must take a form home and have it filled out and signed by a parent/guardian and returned by Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Terry Fox Run

Our Terry Fox run will be held on Thursday September 21st. Students will begin the day with an assembly and then run altogether at 10:30 am.

This year the event slogan is: #Dear Terry

On April 12, 1980, Terry started his Marathon of Hope. When he stopped running, everyone started writing. This September, we continue the annual Terry Fox Run surrounded by messages of love, hope and inspiration.

A bulletin board is up and ready to receive #Dear Terry messages from students.
