Week of Sept 5 | Welcome!, Cell Phones, Staffing, Info Packages

Welcome Back

“And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings” - Meister Eckhart

It was a wonderful first 2 days - full of laughs, hugs, high fives, some nerves, a few yawns, a few tears and so very many smiles. Thank you for supporting your child with getting back into routines and the ‘hang of school’!

We have welcomed over 50 new students (not including kindergarten) over the summer break. We hope that our new families quickly begin to feel part of the Wildwood community. As of today, our enrollment is just over 430 students. We will continue to monitor this closely. At this time, we do not anticipate any restructuring of classes. Our community class sizes are between 17-25 students.

Students over the course of the next week will be guessing which staff member belongs to which child picture. Here is a sneak peek!

Student Cell Phone Expectations

We understand that cell phones are an important communication and safety device for students. During school time (7:57am - 2:35pm), it is expected that phones are in student’s backpacks. There are some exceptions for students that use cell phones for translations or other special circumstances. This is arranged with the teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.

Greetings from Music

Hello Wildwood Students and Families,

My name is Natasha Sayer (Ms. Sayer) and I’m very happy to be joining Wildwood School as the music teacher this year! I am a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and performer and have taught elementary school music with the CBE for over 20 years.

Some of the main goals are that students enjoy and engage in music class activities, develop an appreciation of different types of music, and learn music literacy skills needed to express themselves and play music with others. Students will be listening, singing, moving, playing instruments and creating.

I look forward to meeting you all. Feel free to contact me at nasayer@cbe.ab.ca with any questions you may have.
