School Safety and Security

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, secure, and focused learning environment for all students.

As a friendly reminder, parents, guardians, and other visitors should not enter or remain on school property during instructional time unless they are attending for an authorized school purpose or have made arrangements with the school. This includes the school playground during recess and lunch. When visiting the school during the school day, please come directly to the main office and check in before proceeding elsewhere in the building or on school grounds. Parents and guardians should not meet their children on the playground during lunch or recess unless this has been arranged through the school.

For kindergarten parents, you can continue to meet at the kindergarten entry doors to pick up students. Following pickup, please exit school grounds as lunch break for students follows quickly.

These procedures allow our staff to know who is on site, minimize disruptions to student learning, and help us maintain appropriate safety and security practices. Additionally, independent play is a huge part of children’s development, disrupting that can have a negative impact on student growth.

One further point, the school parking lot is also off limits to parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up times. Families use the parking lot to walk into the school, and parking spaces need to be available for staff to use. Extra vehicles can increase the chances of an accident taking place.

We appreciate your support and partnership in keeping our school a safe and welcoming place for students, staff, and families.
